Dear Friends,
Have you ever been really, really, sick? Was there someone there to take care of you? Didn’t it feel good to know that someone cared? Didn’t it make you feel as though you weren’t alone?
Maybe you’ve had the chance to take care of someone who’s sick. Even if you can’t be with that person, you can always pray for comfort and healing.
When I saw the man who was ill with leprosy, I wanted to help him. During my ministry, I was able to help many people who were sick. I am always close to all who suffer and who need my love. Remember, no one who needs me will ever be alone…
Signed,
Your friend, Jesus
Mark 1:40-45
Jesus Cleanses a Leper
A leper came to him begging him, and kneeling he said to him, “If you choose, you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. After sternly warning him he sent him away at once, saying to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” But he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the word, so that Jesus could no longer go into a town openly, but stayed out in the country; and people came to him from every quarter.
In my life...
Dear Jesus,
Help all the sick people in this world. Let me help those in need around me, the way you did. I will remember what you said, “What you do for others you do for me.” I want to see you in every person I meet, Jesus.
