The Parable of the Two Sons

The Parable of the Two Sons

Dear Friends,

“Saying yes” and “doing no” is a challenge for everyone! Sometimes you may feel stuck between the two. At times, doing the right thing will go against what you feel like doing. At other times, it will be tough and unpopular to do right. But when you live as my follower, my help will always be there for you.

I tried to make this point by telling the following parable. Remember, when you do the right thing it is always seen by my heavenly Father!

Signed,

Your friend, Jesus

Matthew 21:28-32

“What do you think? A man had two sons; he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ He answered, ‘I will not’; but later he changed his mind and went. The father went to the second and said the same; and he answered, ‘I will go, sir’; but he did not go.  Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.”  (Jesus said to the leaders, that sinners were going to go into the Kingdom of God ahead of them, because) “ … John came to you doing the right things and you did not believe him, but the (sinners) believed him; and even after you saw it, you did not change your minds and believe him.

In my life …

Dear Jesus,

Help me to do what you are asking of me through my parents, teachers or guardians. I want to do your will in my life and always be ready to say "Yes" to you when you ask something of me. You are my strength!
